Sending Funeral Flowers ... After the Funeral

If someone you know has passed, you may be contemplating buying funeral flowers. Through this article you are provided with some alternatives to the standard practice of buying funeral flowers to be displayed at the memorial service. With this information in mind you will be able to make plans as to how you want to send your best wishes to the surviving family members of the individual who has passed on.

A funeral by definition is a frantic and difficult time for the family of a deceased. In most cases, there will be plenty of flowers sent at the time of a funeral. Indeed, many families actually request that a donation be made to a particular charity in lieu of flowers. In instances such as this, you should follow the will of the family absolutely.

With that noted, understanding that odds are enough flowers will be sent at the time of the funeral or understanding that the family may in fact request a memorial donation, you might want to consider sending "funeral flowers" at a point in time after the memorial service itself. For example, you could make a notation on your calendar and send "funeral flowers" on the first anniversary of the loved one's passing.

Of course, sending flowers at that juncture in time really does not represent a presentation of funeral flowers as such. But, what it does represent is a very precious gift that undoubtedly will be cherished by the family of the person who passed previously. You will be sending a strong message to the family that not only are they remembered but so is their deceased loved one. This gesture most definitely will warm their hearts.

Another nice idea when it comes to "post" funeral flowers is to telephone up the family an appropriate time after the memorial service and perhaps invite them over or along for dinner. On that occasion you can present them with a bouquet of post funeral flowers as a tribute and reminder that you have been thinking of them ... and of their loved one who has passed.

Of course, in the end you need to consider what type of tribute would make most sense in regard to the survivors of the person who has passed on. In some cases, post funeral flowers really would not be the best route to go. The dynamics of death are complicated and there can be instances in which it is best for a family to move on and to do so in a rapid fashion. On the other hand, there are many other instances in which post funeral flowers really to represent a loving and lovely reminder that you care.
